How QR code photo sharing works at a wedding

By Adam Chetter, award-winning wedding filmmaker

The short answer

With QR code photo sharing, each table has a card with a QR code. Guests point their phone camera at it, which opens an upload page for your wedding. They choose their photos and videos and tap upload. Everything goes into your own private online gallery, ready to view and download after the day.

What your guests do

They open their phone camera and point it at the QR code. A link appears, and they tap it.

Your page opens in their browser, with your names on it. They tap to add photos and videos from their phone.

That’s it. There’s no app, no account and no password. Most guests are done in under a minute.

What you get

One private gallery with every photo and video your guests shared, at full size.

With The Guest Gallery, everything is sorted by the time it was taken, so the gallery runs from the ceremony to the last dance.

You can download single files or the whole gallery, and keep your favourites.

Setting it up

Book online, and your QR code is ready straight away.

Print the table cards at home or at a local printer, or add the QR code to your own stationery.

Test it yourself before the day by scanning the code with your own phone.

Common worries, answered

Poor signal at the venue? Good systems keep trying and finish the upload once signal returns. Guests can also add photos later from home.

Older guests? If they can take a photo, they can scan a QR code. A younger relative can always help.

Privacy? Your gallery should be private by default, opened with a PIN, and only shared if you choose.

Questions couples ask

Do QR codes work on every phone?

Yes. Modern iPhones and Android phones read QR codes straight from the camera.

Is the gallery private?

With The Guest Gallery, yes. Only you can open it with your PIN, unless you choose to share it with guests.

Can we add the QR code to our own stationery?

Yes. You can download the QR code and add it to your own signs, menus or place cards.

Try the guest page yourself, or book The Guest Gallery from £39.
